MODULE ONEFoundation of Christian Integrative Counseling
Module One of the CIC Training is a four-day intensive designed for counseling professionals who are ready to deepen their clinical approach through theologically grounded integration. This module awards 28 Continuing Education credits, including 6 hours dedicated to ethics. The training sets the trajectory for the entire program by laying a comprehensive Christian foundation—offering participants a framework that unites theology, psychology, and somatic insight into one cohesive model for whole-person care.

- Introduces a new theory of integration that expands upon the five dominant models of Christian counseling—offering a historically rooted, theologically sound lens for therapeutic work that unites faith and clinical excellence.
- Establishes a robust theological base for counseling rooted in biblical truth, with a strong emphasis on the integration of mind, body, and spirit—affirming God’s design for human flourishing.
- Equips professionals to critically evaluate and utilize faith-based presuppositions in their clinical approach, including how spiritual formation and worldview shape both counselor and client.
- Explores how spirituality and neurobiology intersect, incorporating current research on how faith influences mental and physical well-being.
- Offers tools and strategies for faith-sensitive intake and case formulation, including the use of spiritual genograms and timelines to discern a client’s spiritual history and possible wounds.
- Provides ethical training specific to faith-integrated counseling, including best practices for prayer, Scripture use, and hope-based interventions that align with clinical standards and biblical fidelity.
- Presents a unique Four-Circle Model inspired by Luke 2:52, blending scriptural wisdom with research-informed methods to create a truly integrative map for client treatment.
